Skiing from the Willow Heights trailhead to the Beaver Pond is a very short excursion in extremely low-angle terrain. It's suitable for a first tour in any avalanche conditions.

When skiing down the super-low-angle terrain to return to the trailhead, be sure to stay skier's left so you don't end up in the "town" of Silver Fork.

Getting to the Beaver Pond

Park at the Willow Heights trailhead and head up the drainage. You'll be at the "pond" in less than 30 minutes. (See an overview of Willow Fork.)
