The Beartrap Glades are on the east (observer's right) side of upper Beartrap Fork. These glades are wide-open and lower angle.

The skiing vertical in the Beartrap Glades is a little short and the skiing is good, so it's worth putting in an extra lap or two.

It is best to avoid the tight-and-steep (and avalanche prone) evergreen trees that are located between the Beartrap Glades and Beartrap Aspens (i.e., observer's right of the Beartrap Glades).

Getting to Beartrap Glades

Follow the instructions to Beartrap Fork. After passing the terrain-trap gully that is mentioned in those instructions, the main track stays slightly right of the drainage and then climbs to the ridge at the top of Beartrap Glades (near Silver). From the ridge you can ski back into Beartrap through any of several wide-open glades.
